The Siren Song of Communism

In former and current Communist countries, the Communist anthem is “The Internationale.” In the West, however, it is John Lennon’s “Imagine.” They contain different lyrics and music styles for different audiences, but their message is the same: The current world is unjust and unredeemable, and we should destroy it for an equitable one-world society.

The song "Imagine" starts with the following verse:

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

This is pure atheism, the foundational “theology” of Communism.

The lyrics of "Internationale" were written by Eugene Pottier, an anarchist who participated in the 1871 insurrection of the Paris Commune (the so-called first dictatorship of the proletariat), and the melody was composed by Marxist Communist Pierre De Geyter. Here is a part of the second verse (I am using the literal translation of the final French lyrics):

There are no supreme saviors
Neither God, nor Caesar, nor tribune.
Producers, let us save ourselves
Let us work for common salvation.

Whenever and wherever Communists took power, the first thing they did was abolish all religion. Then they turned their leaders into gods. Once all religions were gone, they had no opposition from any organized communities of faith. Communism became the state religion. A no-religion state became the worst form of theocracy.

"Imagine"’s second verse portrays a one-world society:

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

This is an echo from the "Internationale" ’s final verse:

Laborers, peasants, we are
The great party of workers
The earth belongs only to men

The vision of Communism is a one-world utopia. It promises a Heaven without God, but only delivers a Hell without hope. It promises peace, but only delivers mass imprisonment and starvation.

Then "Imagine" elaborates on that utopia:

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

Ironically Lennon composed this song in his private studio inside a huge mansion that sits on ninety-nine acres of lush land. He had no idea about starvation and abject poverty. As a survivor of Communism, I know what both are like.

Then "Imagine" repeats the following message:

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

The "Internationale", on the other hand, gives a marching order:

This is the final struggle
Let us gather together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race

The "Internationale" is a marching song. It drums up your emotion for destruction. Communists really don’t know how to build a new world, but they always insist that it can only arise from the ruin of the old one. It appeals to people who are resentful to and hopeless in the world they are in. It gives them moral justification for rioting and looting.

"Imagine," on the other hand, is a siren song. It appeals to youth from the middle and upper-middle classes. Early communist leaders were college-educated. They organized workers and farmers to overthrow their governments. But they themselves soon were purged by people like Stalin and Mao who wanted absolute power and understood mob psychology.

Sirens in Greek mythology were half-woman and half-bird creatures who lured nearby sailors with enchanting music and sweet singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

Lennon's Imagine is the siren song of Communism. Its poetic lyrics and inviting melody lure the innocent youth of the West who know little about the horror of Communism. These youths would vote for Socialism which the Communists believe will inevitably usher in Communism – the same political arrangement that has inflicted suffering, poverty, and starvation on every country it has visited.
